  • 1 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Pasta water, as needed
  • Optional garnishes: finely chopped parsley and red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve some pasta water before draining.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a saucepan, sauté garlic in olive oil, then add tomato paste and cook until darkened. Add heavy cream, red pepper flakes, basil, salt, pepper, parmesan, butter, and pasta water. Simmer until creamy.
  3. Combine: Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce until evenly coated. Serve with additional parmesan, parsley, and chili flakes if desired.
