Description

Indulge in this delicious and simple recipe for Everything (but the bagel) Egg and Avocado Toast. It’s a perfect combination of flavors and textures that will leave you satisfied and ready to tackle the day.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread:

  • 1 piece of bread

Avocado:

  • 1/2 an avocado

Seasoning:

  • Salt and Pepper

Butter:

  • 1/2 tablespoon butter (or fat of your choice)

Egg:

  • 1 egg

Everything (but the bagel) seasoning:

  • Dash of Everything (but the bagel) seasoning

Instructions

  1. Toast the Bread: Put the slice of bread in the toaster and toast.
  2. Prepare Avocado: Once the toast is ready, place it on your plate. Cut the 1/2 of an avocado into slices and arrange them on the bread. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Egg: Place the butter in a skillet and melt over medium heat. Crack the egg into the pan and cook to your liking. I typically cook my egg over easy (cook 3 minutes on one side and then flip and cook for another minute). Place the egg on top of the avocado slices.
  4. Season and Serve: Season the egg with Everything (but the bagel) seasoning and enjoy right away.

Notes

  • You can find Everything (but the bagel) seasoning at most grocery stores in the spice aisle. Trader Joe’s definitely has it or you can find it on Amazon.
  • I like to use butter when I cook eggs, but you can use another fat instead if you prefer, such as olive oil or ghee.
  • This is a great article for learning how to fry an egg, whether you want it sunny side up, over easy, or over hard.
