Pudding:
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups whole milk
- 3 large egg yolks, beaten

Layers:
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 box vanilla wafers
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Make the Pudding: In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, flour, and salt. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat. Gradually whisk about a cup of the hot mixture into the beaten egg yolks; then add the egg mixture back to the saucepan. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Let cool.
- Assemble the Layers: In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding, repeating until all ingredients are used.
- Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Finish: Top the pudding with whipped cream. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
