Description

These Brown Butter Blondies are the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and nutty flavors, with a gooey white chocolate surprise in every bite. Easy to make and even easier to devour, these blondies will quickly become a favorite treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Brown Butter:

  • 1 cup (227 g) unsalted or salted butter (I always use salted)

For the Blondies:

  • 2 cups (255 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.4 g) baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) Maldon sea salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups (300 g) packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (11 g) vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup white chocolate (110 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease with butter.
  2. Brown the butter: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns brown and nutty. Be cautious not to burn the butter. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Prepare the dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Mix the wet ingredients: In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the brown sugar, browned butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  5. Combine and bake: Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stir until just combined, add white chocolate, and pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

  • You can customize these blondies by adding nuts, dried fruits, or different types of chocolate.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar in the recipe.
