Chicken Wings
- 2 1/2 lbs. organic chicken wings, disjointed
- 2 teaspoons On Everything All-Purpose Blend (see Notes for blend ingredients)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
BBQ Sauce and Coating
- 2 cups Homemade BBQ Sauce
- 1 cup organic raw honey
Instructions
- Season + Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, add cleaned and rinsed chicken wings. Sprinkle with On Everything All-Purpose Blend, smoked paprika, and sea salt. Toss thoroughly to coat all the wings evenly. Let the wings sit for 10-15 minutes for initial seasoning absorption. For best results, marinate the wings overnight or up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Lightly grease a standard 9×13 inch baking dish or a large foil baking pan. A large oven-safe skillet can also be used for baking.
- Make the BBQ Sauce: Prepare your homemade BBQ sauce following your favorite recipe or one you trust (refer to Notes). This sauce will be mixed with honey to create a sticky glaze.
- Coat the Wings with Sauce: Return the wings to the large bowl and pour in the homemade BBQ sauce and organic honey. Stir thoroughly to ensure each wing is fully coated with the sticky sauce mixture.
- Bake the Chicken Wings: Transfer the coated wings into the prepared baking dish, spreading them out evenly. Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, allowing the sauce to bake into the wings and caramelize. Halfway through baking, stir and turn the wings over to coat them again evenly.
- Optional Broiling: For an extra sticky and slightly charred finish, broil the wings for the last 10-15 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Serve: Remove from oven and serve hot with your favorite sides like bread, fries, grilled corn, potatoes, rice, or fresh vegetables. Enjoy your delicious baked sticky honey BBQ chicken wings!
Notes
- Storage: Store any leftovers in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven at 375°F or in the microwave before serving.
- Honey Substitutes: You can substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar for a vegan-friendly alternative.
- Homemade All-Purpose Blend: To make the On Everything All-Purpose Blend, combine 1 teaspoon sea salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, and 1 teaspoon dried parsley.
- Marinating Tip: For deeper flavor, marinate wings overnight or up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
