Ingredients

Units Scale

Salmon Bites

  • 12oz / 340g salmon fillets, skin removed and cut into 1 inch (2.5 cm) cubes

Marinade

  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove, grated
  • Small cube fresh ginger, grated

Garnish

  • Sesame seeds
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Spicy mayo or sriracha aioli (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon: Remove the skin and any bones from the salmon fillets. Slice the salmon into large cubes approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) in size for even cooking.
  2. Make the marinade: In a container, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, and freshly grated garlic and ginger. Mix well to create a balanced marinade with sweet and savory flavors.
  3. Marinate the salmon: Add the salmon cubes into the marinade and stir gently to coat all pieces evenly. Let the salmon marinate for at least 10 minutes; if possible, refrigerate for a few hours to deepen the flavor.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 390℉ (200℃) and allow it to preheat. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Air fry the salmon: Arrange the marinated salmon cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching. Air fry for 5-8 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time. Brush leftover marinade over the salmon when flipped to enhance flavor and moisture.
  6. Serve and garnish: Once cooked to your desired doneness, transfer the salmon bites to a serving dish. Garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and a drizzle of spicy mayo or sriracha aioli. Enjoy with a side of rice and vegetables or as part of a salmon bowl.
  7. Feedback: Leave a rating and comment to share your experience. Your feedback helps inspire others and is greatly appreciated!

Notes

  • Use low sodium soy sauce to control salt content.
  • Marinating longer enhances the salmon’s flavor but 10 minutes is sufficient for a quick meal.
  • Cutting salmon into uniform pieces ensures even cooking.
  • Adjust air frying time based on the size of the salmon cubes and preferred doneness.
  • Spraying the air fryer basket helps prevent sticking and makes cleanup easier.
  • Optional garnishes such as spicy mayo or sriracha aioli add a creamy, spicy touch.
